Job Summary:

The Pakistan Textile Council (PTC) is seeking a dynamic and motivated Social Media Intern to join our team in Islamabad. As a Social Media Intern, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our organization’s online presence, promoting the textile industry, and engaging with our target audience through various social media platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring social media professional to gain hands-on experience in a renowned industry organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in developing and implementing the organization’s social media strategy, in alignment with PTC’s goals and objectives.
  2. Create engaging and compelling content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  3. Schedule and publish social media posts using social media management tools, ensuring a consistent and timely presence across platforms.
  4. Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, inquiries, and messages in a prompt and professional manner.
  5. Conduct social media research and stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and best practices to inform content creation and engagement strategies.
  6. Collaborate with internal teams to align social media activities with broader organizational campaigns and initiatives.
  7. Assist in developing and executing paid social media campaigns to increase brand awareness, reach a wider audience, and promote specific events, initiatives, or membership benefits.
  8. Monitor social media metrics and generate regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of social media efforts.
  9. Engage with the online community, build relationships with industry professionals, members, and stakeholders to foster meaningful conversations and enhance brand reputation.
  1. Support in crisis management by monitoring online conversations, addressing sensitive issues, and assisting in protecting the organization’s online reputation.
  2. Assist in capturing and creating visual content (photos, videos, graphics) for social media purposes.
  3. Stay up-to-date with emerging social media trends, tools, and platforms, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  4. Database Management:
    1. Upload and manage the website’s database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
    2. Organize and categorize data effectively for easy access and retrieval.
    3. Implement database optimizations to improve efficiency and speed.
  1. Website Content Updates:
    1. Add, edit, and format content on the website, including news articles, policy updates, publications, and event announcements.
    2. Ensure the timely and accurate uploading of content, adhering to style guidelines and formatting standards.
    3. Source and incorporate relevant multimedia elements, such as images, videos, and infographics.
    4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather content, review drafts, and obtain necessary approvals.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience in social media management, especially within an organization or industry similar to the Pakistan Textile Council (PTC), is highly desirable.
  2. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field. Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience will also be considered.
  3. Passionate about social media and staying up-to-date with the latest trends, algorithms, and best practices.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging and error-free content.
  5. Familiarity with various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  6. Basic knowledge of social media management tools, analytics, and reporting.
  1. Creative mindset and an eye for visual aesthetics to create appealing and impactful social media content.
  2. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  3. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency in brand voice and messaging.
  4. Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) is a plus.
  5. Knowledge of the textile industry and its dynamics is preferred, but not mandatory.

Duration and Compensation:

This is a full-time internship position for a duration of 8-10 weeks. The intern will receive a stipend per month.
